The best known Anderson.Paak song is the knee twitch inducer: “Come Down”, which is  still one of my favorite work-out songs.

It was also the only song I really knew of his, until I saw his performance for NPR’s “Tiny Desk concert”-series on YouTube from a few years back. Just like during his upcoming show at RF18, he shared the Tiny Desk stage with his friends from “the Free Nationals”. They played 5 songs and had me begging for more…

That is one charming dude, amirite?

It’s so hard to describe music with words sometimes, but I think Roskilde Festival’s website pretty much nailed it, when they wrote: “He raps, he sings, he drums – sometimes simultaneously. And that’s not all, he writes beyond-solid, sweat-dripping, funk-jamming R&B songs full of clever, often socially conscious lyrics, far away from the complacency of many colleagues.”

All though I couldn’t find any information about new albums or recent songs (other than his collaboration on the Black Panther soundtrack), I did see that both Anderson.Paak as fellow featuring artist, Bruno Mars, will be collaborating on the new album of Disco-funk legends Chic. So maybe, just maybe, if we’re lucky and keep our fingers crossed, there may be a guest appearance of one or the other during RF18!

Here’s hoping.
